Built-Ins & Millwork

Bookcases, custom trim and molding, and fine woodwork for any room in the home — built and installed across Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess County, NY and Danbury, CT. Owner Micah Beatty has done this work himself since 2001, and the craftsmanship shows.

The woodwork that makes a house feel finished

Built-ins and millwork are the details that separate a house that's "done" from one that feels truly finished. We build bookcases and built-in shelving that fit the wall they're on, custom trim and molding — crown, casings, wainscot, and base — that bring character back to a room, and fine woodwork for the one-off projects that off-the-shelf simply can't cover.

Because everything is built to the space, a built-in reads as part of the architecture, not furniture pushed against a wall. In older Hudson Valley homes, custom trim and molding are often the fastest way to restore the warmth that decades of renovations stripped out — and to make new work blend seamlessly with the original details.

This is the same craftsmanship that goes into our kitchen cabinetry and office cabinetry — just applied wherever a room needs it.

Built to the space, every time

Because no two rooms are the same, we measure and build for the wall in front of us rather than ordering a stock unit and hoping it fits. That matters most in the older homes common across Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess County, where walls aren't square and ceilings vary — exactly the conditions where a true built-in shines and a store-bought piece looks out of place. Whether it's a reading nook lined with bookcases, a hallway dressed in new wainscot, or a single statement piece of trim, we treat the small details with the same care as a full kitchen, because those details are what people notice.
